Prosthesis: !! is a suite of solo voice/text/media performances exploring feedback loops between digital systems and the human mind. This iteration of Prosthesis: !! focuses on boolean logic and binary code. It will use vocal and visual patterns to play with distinctions between ‘true true’, ‘true true true’, ‘true false true’, ‘true false false true’, ‘true false true false true’, ‘true false false true true’, ‘true false true false false true true’, ‘true false false true false true false true’, and ‘true’.
Ian Hatcher is a poet, programmer, musician, and performance artist from New York City. His work has appeared in a multitude of shows, festivals, publications, and other places, including several prior ELO conferences. Along with Amaranth Borsuk and Kate Durbin, he is a recipient of the 2013 Expanded Artists’ Books grant from the Center for Book and Paper Arts (Columbia College Chicago) and a co-author of the forthcoming hybrid book/app Abra.
